질 의 (본 연맹 국제부)
- 2012년 4월 28일 한국 군산에서 국제마라톤대회를 개최하고자 하며, 이에 따라 국제코스계측을 진행하고자 함. 국제코스인증을 받게 되면, 해당 대회에서 선수가 달성한 기록이 런던올림픽 기준기록으로 인정될 수 있는 것입니까?

답 변 (IAAF – 국제육상경기연맹 로드레이스 담당장 Sean Wallace)
- 현재로서는 국제코스인증만 받아도 올림픽이나 세계육상경기선수권대회 등의 주요대회 자격기준(기준기록)으로 인정될 수 있으나, 군산의 경우 올해 (발급받는 당해연도)는 런던올림픽 기준기록으로 인정될 수 없으며, 내년 세계육상경기선수권대회 기준기록으로는 적용될 수가 있습니다.

Dear Young Hoon,

Although this year’s race will not be eligible for London Olympics qualification, it will be valid for the World Championships, assuming that it satisfies the criteria for drop.

At the present time, a valid course measurement certificate is all that is required for the course to be considered for qualification purposes; holding an IAAF Label is not a consideration as this requires that other criteria regarding elite athlete participation be satisfied.

I'd like to forward to you my best wishes for year 2012.

Please allow me to explain the reasons for our inquiry.

We plan to hold an international marathon race at Gunsan, Korea on 28th April, 2012.

In which light, we will conduct a course measurement and submit to Dave Cundy for issuance of the certificate.

We have noted the list qualifying marathon races held in Korea, 2011 for London Olympic Games, some of which have not been issued IAAF Road Race Label ; hence our inquiry.

We look forward to your further advice in this regard.

As you should be aware, the IAAF does not issue international permits. Rather we have the IAAF Road Race Labelling system, of which you have the full details.
